The Piercy Family have been pig farmers for generations in North Yorkshire, selling stock to Quality Butchers throughout the county.
In the late 1990's when pig prices hit rock bottom sending many good producers to the wall, John Piercy decided to have a stall at a Farmers Market selling his pig meat as sausages, burgers, joints, chops etc. So successful was the venture that he quickly added Dry Bacon and Gammon to the list of products.
John now stands at 18 Farmers Markets per month within 40 miles of his Huby base in North Yorkshire. Two members of the Piercy Family are qualified butchers preparing the products ready for market. John sees to the farming side of the business when not standing behind a market stall telling customers to "buy bacon, not water".
